A teleconference on commenting on Changsha's business environment evaluation results and promoting business environment optimization work was held on August 20. It announced that Changsha performed well in China's 2020 business environment evaluation. It scored 80.88 points in terms of business convenience, ranking second in central China.

In 2020, Changsha was among the national top 20 in terms of seven business environment indicators, and its relevant reform experience and typical practices can be used for reference or replicated nationwide. In such areas as obtaining electricity, handling construction permits, cross-border trade, and tendering and bidding, Changsha’s rankings increased by more than 50% compared to last year. This led to further optimization and improvement of the city’s overall business environment. The reform policies in the fields of starting a business, obtaining electricity, executing contracts, and creating, protecting and utilizing intellectual property were implemented effectively, with market entities reporting a strong sense of satisfaction.

Changsha will be in line with the business environment standards of domestic and international advanced cities such as Suzhou; highlight distinctive and differentiated development; firmly grasp the four major work priorities of government affairs, market, rule of law and innovation environment; continue to raise its profile of business environment; and, elevate its business environment to a higher level.
