During the 24 hours of August 20, there were no new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Hunan.  

During the 24 hours of August 20, there was 1 new asymptomatic COVID-19 case reported in Hunan (imported case). There were no asymptomatic cases re-categorized as confirmed ones. There were 2 new cases out of quarantine (in Changsha). There were 17 people under medical observation (including 4 imported cases). 

Between 0:00 on July 20 and 24:00 on August 20, a total of 113 confirmed COVID-19 cases (including 3 imported cases) had been reported in Hunan. There were 101 patients hospitalized (including 1 imported case), and 3 severe cases. Twelve patients were discharged from hospitals (including 2 imported cases). No people had died. 

Since July 28 when the first asymptomatic case reported in Hunan, the number of days with no new confirmed and asymptomatic cases reported are: 20 days in Changde and Xiangxi; 19 days in Changsha; 17 days in Xiangtan; 16 days in Yiyang; 13 days in Zhuzhou; and, 5 days in Zhangjiajie.
