Scenic Areas in Hunan Reopen to Public with Strict Anti-epidemic Measures

In Wangcheng District, Jinggang Ancient Town, Heimifeng National Forest Park, and other A-level scenic spots reopened to the public starting from August 14.

In Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, the outdoor tourist attractions and playgrounds, and indoor stadiums and theaters reopened to the public on August 15 with strict anti-epidemic measures, including limiting visitor number and adopting advance reservations.

In Ningxiang City, Huaminglou—Liu Shaoqi’s Former Residence and Guanshan Ancient Town resumed operation on August 16.

In Fenghuang County, 11 scenic spots including Fenghuang Ancient Town, Nanhua Mountain, and Fenghuang Giant Panda Garden reopened on August 16.

The Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in Shaoshan City reopened to visitors on August 16.

Hengshan Mountain’s core scenic area, Nanyue Temple, Zhurong Hall, Waterfall Cave, and Wanshou (Longevity) Tripod will reopen to the public starting from 7:00 am on August 23. The opening hours is between 7:00 and 17:30.

Nanyue scenic area will strictly limit the number of visitors and implement staggered shifts and reservation systems. Visitors will not be allowed to enter without making a reservation. The number of daily visitors should not exceed 75% of maximum capacity. Visitors are requested to make an appointment via the WeChat official account of "Nanyue Tourism [南岳旅游]".

Visitors need to present their original ID cards, health QR codes, digital travel records, COVID-19 vaccination records, and appointment codes, wear masks, keep a safe distance, take personal protection measures, and cooperate with temperature measurement and information registration. Those who are from medium- and high-risk areas and have a travel history related to these areas are not accepted.

Hunan Leifeng Memorial Hall reopened on August 14, with an average daily visitor count of more than 400. 

Changsha Museum and Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum resumed operation on August 14. Changsha Museum adopts real-name reservation, accepts individual visits only, and sets a daily visitor cap at 2,000.
