Secretary Xu thanked the working group for its guidance and support to Hunan's epidemic prevention and control. He noted that, since Hunan Province reported the first local case tested positive for coronavirus on July 28, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, have implemented the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech on epidemic prevention and control. They immediately initiated the emergency response in accordance with the requirements of the State Council joint prevention and control mechanism, and took a series of “strict, fast, tight, pragmatic, and meticulous” prevention and control measures. Hunan’s epidemic prevention and control has achieved initial results and the situation has continued to improve, thanks to the concerted efforts of the cadres and the masses.
The working group came to Hunan to guide the provincial epidemic prevention and control work, and visited Zhangjiajie, Zhuzhou, and other places to learn about the anti-epidemic conditions, since the province was at the critical juncture of epidemic prevention and control. It has provided a full range of professional guidance and assistance for epidemiological investigation and screening, nucleic acid testing, centralized quarantine, hospital infection prevention and control, medical treatment, and community prevention and control, and has made outstanding contributions to Hunan’s epidemic prevention and control work. In the future, we will consistently implement the “strict, fast, tight, pragmatic, and meticulous" requirements, to resolutely win the tough battle against COVID-19 epidemic, make every effort to coordinate epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and offer satisfactory results to the Party and the people, he added.
Director Wang remarked that the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province have carried forward the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech on epidemic prevention and control; implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council; adopted effective anti-epidemic measures; and, urged the fulfillment of the prevention and control responsibilities of authorities and government departments at all levels, especially the primary and front-line. They have gathered a strong synergy of epidemic prevention and control throughout the province; achieved staged results in a relatively short period of time; and, explored many good experiences and practices that can be replicated and promoted. We believed that after this major test, Hunan Province will surely further strengthen the bottom line of epidemic prevention and control; further normalize epidemic prevention and control; provide a more solid guarantee for economic and social development; and, make greater contributions to the overall national fight against COVID-19 epidemic.
