Changsha Cleared of Medium-risk Areas for COVID-19

The Changsha COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command Center issued a notice on August 13, 2021. It announced that the Qiancheng Jiayuan Residential Area of Chilinglu Neighborhood, Tianxin District, Changsha has been adjusted to a low-risk area starting from 20:00 on August 13, 2021, in accordance with relevant requirements of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council and comprehensive assessments by city and county experts.

Previously, Changsha announced that Xinning Xincun Residential Area and the No.2 Building of Weilai Fangzhou Residential Area, Chengjiao Neighborhood, Ningxiang City (County-level) have been downgraded to low-risk areas. So far, Changsha has been cleared of medium-risk areas for COVID-19, and all areas in the city are low-risk areas.

Between July 29 and August 1, two locally-transmitted confirmed cases and three asymptomatic cases had been reported in Ningxiang City and Tianxin District. Facing epidemic resurgence, Changsha authority has firmly implemented decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee, State Council, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Hunan Provincial People’s Government. It put people and their lives first, and immediately started the battle of epidemic prevention and control.

Changsha immediately launched emergency response plans, and carried out effective epidemiological investigations into origins of the coronavirus, quarantine control, nucleic acid tests, medical treatment, community services, and publicity and guidance. These efforts quickly contained virus spread and helped the city resume its normal state. At present, there are five cases who are under medical isolation and treatment at the Changsha Public Health Rescue Center and they are in a stable condition.
