Facing the resurgence of COVID-19 epidemic, Hunan volunteers have taken the initiative to participate in epidemic prevention and control, to fight against the epidemic with love.
In Zhangjiajie, more than 200 veterans volunteered to work at the frontline of epidemic prevention and control. They helped carry medical supplies in hospitals, and pick up medical personnel on and off duty. They built two WeChat groups to respond to medical staff’s demands.
The initiator Qin Zhiqiang said, "We want to contribute to our hometown, and ease the pressures of the people and the governments. It is our responsibility as veterans, to fight at the most dangerous places. "
Since July 30, the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Zhuzhou Municipal Committee have organized 112 teams of more than 3,200 youth volunteers to fight at the frontline. They went to communities and conduct door-to-door survey, and assisted in maintaining order at nucleic acid testing sites.
Dong Shihui, a 19-year-old college student volunteer in Zhuzhou, said, " A drop
of water runs into rivers, and the ocean at last. I believe that Zhuzhou will
surely break the waves in this fight against the epidemic."
In Hengyang’s Heping Township, more than 50 CPC members volunteered to organize six publicity teams on motorcycles. Every morning, they ride motorcycles with loud-speakers to villages and households, to popularize epidemic prevention and control knowledge and policies to every household and resident.
In Lengshuijiang City, volunteers persuade people to wear masks in the streets, and present masks to the elderly and children, to increase their awareness of epidemic prevention. There are more than 10,000 volunteers participating in epidemic prevention and control in the city at present.
