At the symposium, Governor Mao said that in recent years, the provincial poverty alleviation system has adhered to the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on targeted poverty alleviation, and assumed the political responsibility of Hunan as the place where the targeted poverty alleviation was initiated. The overall planning is well done, the leading coordination is well implemented, the effect of poverty alleviation promotion is good, and the cadre team has a good work style. It has made positive contributions to the historical eradication of absolute poverty in the province and the solution of the overall regional poverty problem.

He pointed out that, after scoring a complete victory in poverty alleviation, the focus of the work on “agriculture, rural areas, and farmers” has shifted from concentrating superior resources to support the fight against poverty to comprehensively promoting rural revitalization. The provincial rural revitalization system must understand and grasp the new situation of the “four changes” in work focus, job functions, work content, and work requirements; find the starting and ending points; and assist the provincial rural revitalization work to start well. It is necessary to promote the spirit of poverty alleviation, consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation, act on rural construction, and make combined efforts from all sectors in rural revitalization, he added.
