During the 24 hours of August 9, there were no new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases reported in Hunan. There were no asymptomatic cases re-categorized as confirmed ones. There was one new case out of quarantine. There were 21 people under medical observation (including 3 imported cases).

Between 0:00 on July 20 and 24:00 on August 9, a total of 94 confirmed COVID-19 cases (including 3 imported cases) had been reported in Hunan. There were 92 patients hospitalized (including 1 imported case), and four severe cases. Two patients were discharged from hospitals (imported cases). No people had died.

Since July 28 when the first asymptomatic case reported in Hunan, the number of days with no new confirmed and asymptomatic cases reported are: 9 days in Changde; 9 days in Xiangxi; 8 days in Changsha; 6 days in Xiangtan; 5 days in Yiyang; 2 days in Zhuzhou; and, 0 days in Zhangjiajie.
