The Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology recently announced this year’s first batch of provincial key digitalized, smart, and internet-powered projects of manufacturing industry. A total of 385 projects of leading enterprises, such as Zoomlion, Wasion Group, and CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotives, were listed. Among these projects, there are 275 digital, 66 internet-powered, and 44 smart ones.
In terms of regions, the projects cover all of the 13 cities and one prefecture. Changsha has 125 projects on the list, taking up 30% of the total and the most among all the regions. Yiyang has 44, ranking the second. Zhuzhou has 8 internet-powered projects on the list, presenting its strong power in rail transit industrial cluster development and industrial internet. Xiangtan has 5 smart projects, with a number of enterprises represented by the Xiangtan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. of Hunan Valin who are on the stage of industry 3.0 even 4.0.
In terms of investment, the total investment of the 385 projects exceed 14.6 billion CNY. So far, 6.8 billion CNY has been paid in; more than 60% projects have completed half of their processes; and, more than half of these projects have an investment exceeding 10 million CNY each. The project with the largest investment is from the 1MORE Acoustic Technology (Hunan) Technology Co., Ltd. It will invest 2.25 billion CNY to build an intelligent acoustic product industrial park, with an annual output of 15 million sets of products. The park will drive environment-friendly, high-end, and smart transformation and upgrades of related enterprises.
In terms of industrial sector, there are 116 machinery, 75 electronic information, 70 light industry, and 46 food projects, occupying 80% of the total. This tallies with Hunan’s industrial economy performance indicators. It improves that, machinery sector takes a provincial lead in digital transformation, while the electronic information sector has a relatively high intelligent capacity.
