On August 5, Wang Hesheng, deputy director of the National Health Commission and director of the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention, led a Working Group of the State Council Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism to Zhuzhou City, to supervise and guide the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control work. In the afternoon, the group members attended the report meeting on epidemic prevention and control work in Zhuzhou City. Wu Lan, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended and delivered a speech. Xie Jianhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province, presided over the meeting.

Mr. Wang, after listening to the report on Zhuzhou’s anti-epidemic work, fully affirmed its achievements in the fight against the pandemic. He remarked that Zhuzhou government has regarded epidemic prevention and control as a “top-level” project, insisted on implementing the following principle of starting the joint mechanism as soon as possible, carrying out epidemiological investigation as soon as possible, taking nucleic acid testing as soon as possible, implementing environment defending as soon as possible, and launching publicity and education as soon as possible, and has recognized the epidemic impact, arranged anti-pandemic work, taken prevention and control measures, and protected the people effectively.

He asked to:
-Further unify thoughts and actions based on the spirits of President Xi Jinping’s series of important instructions on epidemic prevention and control and be strict, meticulous, and careful to implement them;
-Quickly and strictly trace the epidemiological source, do well in detection, quarantine, and control of key groups, and carry out nucleic acid screening on key groups quickly and efficiently;
-Strictly manage the quarantine points and the centralized residences of medical personnel involved in the tasks of treating cases;
-Strictly ensure whole-process services to patients from the beginning to end, and closed-loop management;
-Strictly prevent and control the nosocomial transmission and outbreak;
-Effectively put the normalized epidemic prevention and control measures in place without any relaxation;
-Make reviews and summarize. Keep good practices while finding the loopholes and shortcomings;
-Strengthen training and drills to ensure that the emergency response mechanism can be activated in a timely manner and operated efficiently; and,
-Clarify responsibilities among regions, departments, and offices, accelerate the work of vaccinating people, and make overall plans for the construction of the public health system.
