Hunan’s transport sector has taken swift actions in epidemic prevention and control recently.

In accordance with current epidemic situations and the requirements of the provincial and ministerial authorities, the Hunan Department of Transport rolled out targeted working plans for the epidemic prevention and control in the sectors of road transport, waterway transport, highway service areas, urban rail transit, and railway special lines. It also joined hands with the China Railway Guangzhou Group to formulate epidemic prevention and control protocols for inter-city railways, and clearly defined key points and requirements in the sector.

Strict epidemic prevention and control measures are being implemented in key venues and transport means, including:
- frequently disinfect and ventilate venues and means of public transport around the province, including the second- and above- level passenger stations, railway stations, airports, expressway service areas, subway stations, maglev train stations, inter-city railway stations, and ports; and, 34,000 coaches and 32,000 buses;
- take temperature for passengers and workers;
- wear facial masks;
- check health codes and travel history codes; and,
- keep one-meter distance.

Frontline workers are demanded to take temperatures before and after work, conduct nucleic acid tests regularly, and get vaccinated. Starting from July 31, working staff at key positions in the key venues such as subway stations and bus hubs are required to undergo nucleic acid test once a day, and the rest results should be reported every day.

Epidemic prevention and control is intensified in cold-chain logistics sectors. Related enterprises are demanded to carry out cold-chain logistics information registration, and collaborate with the authorities in sample collecting, nucleic acid testing, customs clearance inspection, and disinfections. Consignee should not consign cold-chain product from an unknown source.
