Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic. The Hunan Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) expert gave explanations on related issues of public concerns on July 31.

Under the unified deployment and arrangement of the Hunan provincial joint prevention and control mechanism against COVID-19, mass vaccination has been pushed forward around Hunan Province in an orderly way. As of July 30, a total of 64.782 million doses of vaccines had been administered, and 33.89 million people had been vaccinated, among whom 23.45 million had completed their vaccine dose schedules in full .

Vaccination supply in Hunan is basically stable, thanks to the support and centralized allocation of the national authority. Mass vaccination for the entire population can be ensured in a step-by-step and staggered manner, to satisfy the people’s demands. Short-term vaccine shortage may be seen at few institutions, due to huge demands of vaccines. The provincial authority will allocate vaccines to the vaccination institutions accurately and promptly, based on the amount of vaccine purchasing and supply, to guarantee smooth vaccine administration.

Local authorities across Hunan Province have optimized vaccination clinics arrangement to meet the public demands. Currently, there are more than 3,000 COVID-19 vaccination sites with 9,896 seats for vaccination and medical operation around the province. More than 60,000 personnel are devoted to pre-examination and registration, vaccination, medical treatment, and organization works. Over 1.2 million doses of vaccines can be administered daily.

The expert pointed out that, due to recent surge of the people’s vaccination demands and the launching of vaccination for teenagers aged between 15 and 17 in August, a notable increase of people to get vaccinated will be seen. Residents are suggested to pay close attentions to the arrangements of nearby vaccination sites, make reservations through telephone, on the site, or on the WeChat public account of Hunan health card, and go for vaccination at staggered hours.
