The Hunan Department of Education published an emergency notification on July 28 on further strengthening epidemic prevention and control work in schools to safeguard the life and health of all the faculty and students. COVID-19 Vaccination for secondary school students will be launched in August.

Vaccination for students aged between 12 and 17 years old is on the schedule. According to the deployment of the Hunan provincial joint prevention and control mechanism against COVID-19, vaccination for students aged between 15 and 17 years old will be launched in August, and that for those between 12 and 14 will be in September. As for the end of October, all students between 12 and 17 years old will be vaccinated. The notification required educational administrations and schools at all levels to follow the arrangement of the local joint prevention and control mechanisms, and beef up efforts to ensure vaccination for these students.
