A Hunan-born designer participated in the uniform design for Chinese athletes at Tokyo Olympics.

The Chinese delegation uniforms, with the theme of "making a good start" were designed by a team led by Xiangtan-born designer He Yang, president of the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and a team led by Yang Hui. The uniform features a stand-up collar, five-star graphic patterns, and peony patterns, displaying elements of traditional Chinese aesthetics.
