The Changsha Metro announced on July 22 that, Changsha subway passenger volume surged in this July, with more than 2 million passenger trips received daily. In order to better meet people's night travel needs during the summer vacation, and support Changsha’s night-time economy development, all metro lines will extend operating hours to 23:30 every Friday from July 23 to August 31.

The Changsha Metro has carefully studied and formulated a special plan for this seasonal adjustment of operating hours. It has made overall arrangements from the aspects of train organization, passenger transport service and equipment maintenance, and overcome difficulties including compressed time for equipment and facility maintenance. Relevant preparations have been in place.
