Changsha Vice Mayor Liu Yongbing Meets Consul-general of Canada in Guangzhou

Changsha Vice Mayor Liu Yongbing met in Changsha with Philippe Rheault, consul-general of Canada in Guangzhou and his delegation on July 14 afternoon. They had in-depth discussions on carrying out cooperation in various fields and deepening cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Vice Mayor Liu Yongbing, on behalf of the Changsha Municipal People’s Government, welcomed the guests. He said that as a core city along the Belt and Road and a new first-tier city in China, Changsha has profound historical and cultural deposits, beautiful natural scenery, and vibrant urban development. It is also a city suitable for living and working, and residents have a strong sense of happiness here. Changsha and Canada have maintained frequent exchanges in recent years. Both sides have been deepening and developing exchanges and cooperation in various fields.  He hoped that the two sides will further increase cultural and people-to-people exchanges, deepen industrial cooperation, expand friendly exchanges, enhance the cooperation of competitive industries and production capacity, deepen bilateral friendship and achieve win-win development.

Consul-general Philippe Rheault said that Changsha and Canada have a good foundation for cooperation. He hoped that the two sides will keep closer exchanges and push for more fruitful cooperation results in such advantageous areas as aviation industry, medical and health care, culture, and education.
