On July 12, the Hunan Department of Ecology and Environment announced the list of provincial ecological environment education bases for 2019 and 2020. A total of 12 bases have met the requirements of the "Hunan Provincial Ecological Environment Education Base Evaluation Standard System" and were awarded the plaques. So far, the number of ecological environment education bases in Hunan has increased to 53, and social high-quality environmental education resources were expected to be fully utilized.

Hunan has been establishing ecological environment education bases since 2016. The move aims to strengthen the capacity of ecological environment governance and build a modern environmental governance system led by the Party committee, guided by the government, and participated by business entities, social organizations and the public.

The 10 bases were recommended by ecology and environment authorities at all levels and selected based on leading group review.
There are five bases for 2019, including:
-- Changsha Testing Base of Guangzhou GRG Metrology & Test Co., Ltd.;
-- Hunan Green Renewable Resources Co., Ltd.;
-- Everbright Environmental Energy (Yongzhou) Limited;
-- Hunan Guiyang Chongling National Wetland Park Administration Office; and,
-- Primary School Attached to Normal College of Jishou University.

There are seven bases for 2020, including:
-- Changsha Hazardous Waste Disposal Center;
-- Changsha Medical Waste Disposal Center;
-- Xiangxian Modern Environment Energy Co., Ltd.;
-- Hunan Pingjiang Junxin Environmental Protection Co., Ltd.;
-- Qiyang Conch Venture Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.;
-- Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Niujiaoshan Ecological Agriculture Technology Development Co., Ltd.; and,
-- Longshan Liye Museum.
