A nameplate of the Chinese Tennis Association Cooperated Training Base was unveiled at the Moon Island Red Clay Court Tennis Park on July 11, 2021. It is the second national-level sports training field in Hunan, after the women’s volleyball training base in Chenzhou.

The Chinese Tennis Association approved five cooperated training bases, based on its assessment rules, in this May. The five bases are: Liuzhou Tennis Center; Rizhao Antai International Tennis Center; Tianjin Tennis Sports Management Center; Zhuhai Hengqin International Tennis Center; and, Hunan Moon Island French Open – Roland Garros Red Clay Tennis Park.

As a national tennis training field, the park will make all-out efforts to assist the national tennis teams to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
