The Foton Motor Changsha Super Truck Plant was put into operation in Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone on July 8. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, announced the operation of the project. Gong Yueqiong, Party secretary and chairman of the Foton Motor Group, delivered a speech. They witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement among the Foton Motor Group, Changsha Urban Development Group, and Hunan Xiangjiang Group.

Changsha Municipal leaders Tan Yong and Shen Yumou participated.

The Foton Motor Changsha Super Truck Plant was built to meet market demand in south China and abroad. It is positioned as a manufacturing center in south China that integrates automation, intelligence and flexibility, after an overall upgrade from the Foton Motor Changsha Plant. The plant’s total investment is nearly 1.5 billion yuan, with a production capacity of more than 100,000 vehicles. The annual output value is expected to reach 15 billion yuan. This will directly create 3,000 new jobs and drive the employment of 10,000 people.

The Foton Motor Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Changsha Urban Development Group and Hunan Xiangjiang Group that day. They will strengthen cooperation in the field of intelligent connected commercial vehicles; facilitate the building of a “City of Intelligent Driving”; improve urban construction services through the promotion and demonstration of commercial vehicle products in project cooperation; and, leverage their potential to jointly promote Changsha’s “Three Highlands” construction and high-quality development.
