The Hunan Airport Corporation follows the people-centered principle to solve the traffic problems of passengers, and focuses on implementing the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy to embark on a new journey of the 14th Five-year Plan.

In 2021, the corporation rolled out 60 new practical measures to serve passengers. Revolutionary-themed tourist flights from Changsha to Yan’an, Zunyi, Baise, and Shijiazhuang cities were opened or added. It explored “air-railway combined transportation” services, and organized a lunching ceremony in Shaoshan, which also marked the launching of a Party history learning themed revolutionary tour. Comprehensive digital transformation began: the corporation founded a digital transformation technological innovation alliance, and strives to build “safe, green, smart, and humanistic airports” based on digital transformation. On June 28, the construction of the Ground Traffic Center (GTC) of the Changsha Airport Reconstruction and Expansion Project was launched. It will accelerate forming of Changsha’s four-hour aviation economic circle, and be significant to promoting high-quality development in central China.

In the first half of this year, the airports around Hunan have handled more than 13.95 million passenger trips, 117,000 flights, and 115,000 tons of cargos, increasing by 78.3%, 57.3%, and 47% respectively over last year, said Yao Yingjie, president of the Hunan Airport Corporation. A steady growth has been seen in the major indicators, including numbers of passengers and flights, passenger loads, and flight operation rate.
