The Hunan intangible cultural heritage serial activities to mark the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) kicked off in Zhuzhou on July 1, 2021.
The event was hosted by the Hunan Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Zhuzhou Municipal People’s Government. It has three parts – an opening ceremony, also an art performance; a Hunan intangible cultural heritage expo; and, a special exhibition of Liling under-glazed colorful porcelain making techniques. Necessary epidemic prevention measures will be strictly followed.
An art performance at the Zhuzhou Shennong Theatre raised the curtain of the event. Twenty-one provincial and above-level intangible cultural heritage programmes, including Hakka’s folk songs, Miao drum dance, and Changde silk strings show, were staged. Intangible cultural inheritors from around the province gave brilliant performances to express their love and best wishes for the Party. The programmes showcased Hunan’s effective protection of intangible cultural heritages.
An intangible cultural heritage expo opened simultaneously at the theatre hall. Hunan embroidery, Baoqing bamboo carving, Miao silverworks, and vine tea was on display. The expo will last until July 4. One hundred intangible cultural heritage and cultural creation projects from Hunan and Jiangxi provinces are shown, including 30 collaborative “Xiang-Gan Hong” brand programs. Offline product promotion and livestreaming promotions are held. Customers can purchase Hunan and Jiangxi intangible cultural heritage products on JD online shopping platform.
Another part of the event, a special exhibition of Zhuzhou’s national intangible cultural heritage – Chen Yanglong Under-glazed Colorful Porcelain Art Formation and Development Exhibition, will be held at the Zhuzhou Museum until September 15.
