The Hunan government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) on June 23. Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, met in Changsha with Han Liping, secretary of the Party leadership group and deputy director of Board of Directors of ACFSMC. They attended the signing ceremony.

Wu Lan, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Zhang Jianfei, member of the Standing Committee and secretary-general of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee participated. Sui Zhongcheng, vice governor of Hunan Province, and Hou Shunli, member of the Party leadership group and deputy director of Board of Directors of ACFSMC, signed the agreement on behalf of both sides. The two sides will deepen practical cooperation in building a service platform and developing key projects for agriculture, rural areas, and rural people, promoting rural vocational education training, and strengthening policy support in rural revitalization.

Secretary Xu Dazhe expressed his gratitude to ACFSMC for its support for the development of Hunan's agriculture and rural areas. He said that Hunan is a major agricultural province. In recent years the province has been shouldering its political responsibility as the birthplace where the idea of targeted poverty alleviation was first put forward, persisted in sustainable development to end poverty, and promoted rapid development of agricultural and rural areas. Xu added that at present, we are studying the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches made when inspecting Hunan, implementing the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, and striving to build a modern new Hunan. Xu continued that to achieve this aim, we must carry out rural revitalization strategy and promote modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

ACFSMC has unique advantages in serving the production and life of farmers, and is a key force for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. Xu hoped that ACFSMC will continue to provide help and guidance to Hunan, especially to increase policy and financial support for major projects in Hunan’s rural revitalization. Hunan will focus on Party history learning and the goals in the new era to implement the agreement and promote high-qualtiy development of agriculture, rural areas, and rural people.

Han Liping said that Hunan’s cooperatives have maintained a good momentum of development. Many valuable experiences and typical cases accumulated. ACFSMC will view the agreement signing as a new starting point to help Hunan’s cooperatives improve service ability, so as to contribute more to the province’s rural revitalization.
