Changsha Customs announced on June 24 that, between this January and May, Hunan’s import and export of agricultural products totaled 17.46 billion CNY, increasing by 34.4% over last year. A rise was seen in agricultural product export.

In recent years, Hunan has rolled out targeted measures to ensure vegetable supply to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Hundreds of vegetable supply bases were authenticated, and a number of influential agricultural brands emerged, which elevated competitiveness of Hunan vegetables in export market.
In the first five months, Hunan exported 1.63 billion CNY of vegetables to the Hong Kong and Macao SARs, rising by 104.6% year on year, and taking up 68.6% of its total exports to these regions.

The United States surpassed Brazil to become the biggest source of agricultural imports. In the first five months, Hunan imported 3.27 billion CNY of agricultural products from U.S.A, increasing by 12.7 times, and accounting for 26.7% of Hunan’s total agricultural import and 18.9% of its agricultural import from Brazil.
