The 19th Korea Heart to Heart (K2H) International Civil Servant Exchange Seminar was held in Changsha on June 23. Mr. Yuh Pok-keun, minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in China; Kan Baoyong, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee; Liu Yang, counsellor of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and, Ye Jingsong, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hunan Provincial People’s Government, attended the opening ceremony.
The seminar was hosted by the ROK Embassy in China and the Korean Governors' Association; co-organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Affairs Office of Hunan Provincial People’s Government; and, undertaken by the Changsha Municipal People's Government. More than 180 representatives of civil servants across the country who had visited the ROK for international exchanges attended the seminar.
The seminar is an inter-governmental exchange activity that has been held by the ROK for many years. Since 2001, it has been held in various Chinese cities every year with the aim of sharing ROK experience in administration, economy and trade, and cultural development and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
With the theme of “Cooperation and Development for a Better Future”, this year’s seminar included such activities as promotion meetings, keynote speeches and inspection tours. Changsha once hosted the 7th K2H International Civil Servant Exchange Seminar in 2007.
