Hunan Airport Technological Innovation Strategic Cooperation Alliance was founded in Changsha on June 16, 2021. Hunan Vice Governor Chen Fei attended the founding ceremony.

The Hunan Airport Corporation collaborates with six leading aviation enterprises to initiate this alliance, aiming to accelerate digital transformation. The alliance will focus on “improving security level; advancing operation efficiency; optimizing service quality; and, solving practical demands in operation”. They will jointly build a platform of exchange, synergy, innovation, and collaboration, and carry out research on intelligent special apron equipment, 5G communication, high-precision map and location technology, and aviation-terrestrial integrated operation. These endeavors will help ensure safe, green, and intelligent operation of airports, and promote high-quality development of Hunan’s civil aviation.

Vice Governor Chen stressed that airport authorities should boost digital transformation based on improvement of airport operation efficiency, and accumulate digitalization experiences for the third runway operation of Changsha airport, to achieve digital transformation of the whole airport and set an example for other airports in the province. Efforts should be made to curb the practice of formalities for formalities' sake and bureaucratism. Problem-oriented and passenger-centered approaches should be implemented to pursue “safety, healthy, punctuality, and comfort”. The authorities should follow Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and step up digital transformation of airports, in a bid to facilitate implementation of the provincial Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, make new progress in forming new development patterns, and shoulder new responsibilities in the rise of central China and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
