A national unified medical insurance information platform launched regional operation in Yongzhou on June 16, 2021. So far, 4,349 local medical institutions have been connected to the platform, covering nearly 6 million insured users.

Hunan follows the nationwide unified service code and technical standards, and carry out regional operation in accordance with a unified application architecture. Mainstream technologies, such as cloud computing, microservices, distributed system, and middle platform , are applied to ensure unification, stability, and sharing of Hunan’s medical insurance services. A number of new application scenarios will be available on this new platform, including medical insurance certificate and e-code. It will make settlements of single purchases more convenient, medical insurance information safer, and management of medical healthcare insurance fund more standard.

Regional operation of the platform is being boosted in other cities and prefecture, and will cover the whole province in this October. The province-wide online medical insurance services and information data will be connected to the national platform. This will help standardize Hunan’s medical insurance services, realize intelligent supervision and management, facilitate public service, and conduct precision decision analysis, so as to promote high-quality development of Hunan’s medical insurance undertaking.
