The 2021 “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” Changsha intangible cultural heritage publicity and exhibition event opened at the cultural square of Changsha Binjiang Cultural Park on June 6.
The event is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Various activities will be held to publicize and display Changsha’s achievements in intangible cultural heritage protection, integration and innovation. They include an opening ceremony, the first Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage Music Week, and an intangible cultural heritage shopping festival.
As an innovative project of the event, the First Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage Music Week was launched simultaneously. A concert featuring Kam Grand Choir, a polyphonic choir performed by the Dong ethnic group, was held at the Changsha Concert Hall that day, attracting applause from the audience.
A Changsha intangible cultural heritage concert, a Changsha Tanci concert, and a musical called Han Xizai's Night Revel Music Legend were scheduled to be staged at the Changsha Concert Hall on June 7, June 10 and June 13, respectively.
A special activity was launched on the popular Chinese short-video platform Douyin or TikTok to collect intangible cultural heritage stories from netizens. This will help further spread Changsha intangible cultural heritage.
