China’s annual college entrance exam, also known as Gaokao, started on June 7. Zhu Zhongming, Hunan vice governor and also director of the provincial commissions committee for the national college entrance exam, inspected the Hunan Education Examination Authority and the Changsha First High School that morning. He asked all authorities concerned around the province should fulfill their responsibilities, maintain readiness, and enforce examination rules in a strict and meticulous way, to ensure a safe and stable Gaokao.
Vice Governor Zhu coordinated Gaokao preparations in cities and prefecture at the command center in the Hunan Education Examination Authority. He examined student check-in, Gaokao paper storage and distribution, and confidential mechanism and implementations at all examination sites via video monitors.
At the Changsha First High School, one of the Gaokao sites, he inspected examination discipline implementation and supervision in every examination room via video monitors. He also greeted and talked with staff at the site.
He stressed following deployments and requirements of the Ministry of Education, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. All departments concerned should make all-out efforts to handle each aspect meticulously and properly, to ensure a safe and smooth examination. Close attention should be paid on epidemic conditions and the participation of exam takers, to make sure all candidates sit the exam. No relaxation is allowed in exam security and epidemic prevention and control, to prevent impact of epidemic on the exam, and virus spread during the exam. Candidate-centered service and guarantee tasks should be strengthened in preparation for emergencies, to ensure a good examination environment.
