The exhibition was sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Cultural Center and Hunan Folk Artists Association. It is the largest folk paper-cutting art exhibition in Hunan in recent years.
According to Ye Weiping, curator of the Hunan Provincial Cultural Center, the works were created based on the theme of "Centenary of the Communist Party of China", "Rural Revitalization" and "Better Life". They fully demonstrate the unique charm of paper-cutting art. Nearly 400 paper-cut works were received since the entry collection launched in early April. Finally, 120 works were selected after expert review. The oldest participant was 89 years old, and the youngest was only 6 years old.
The exhibition is held both online and offline. The offline exhibition opens at the Art Corridor of the Hunan Provincial Cultural Center, and then it will tour around across the province. The online exhibition is held through the WeChat official accounts of the Hunan Provincial Cultural Center, Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, and Haiwen Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall.
