On the afternoon of June 4, Mao Weiming, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, inspected the traffic jam management work in Changsha City. He asked to keep the people-centered development philosophy in mind and base the work on Party history learning and education event “I do practical things for the masses”. He called for effectively solving the problem of traffic congestion, improving the level of urban traffic management, and continuously meeting the people's high-quality life needs for transportation, so as to boost the people’s feeling of gain.

During the field inspection, Governor Mao emphasized that transportation is related to the vital interests of the people and the quality of the city's image.
He said that efforts should be made to:
-transform the achievements of Party history learning and education into practical actions to solve problems of pressing public concern;
-comprehensively eliminate traffic jams, chaos, and safety hazards and adhere to “one-problem-one-strategy, to create a safe, convenient, efficient, and smooth traffic environment;
-speed up the construction of transportation infrastructure, improve the carrying capacity of road network, and make both “main arteries” and “microcirculation” of urban traffic smooth;
-strengthen fine management and use information technology such as big data and cloud computing, to improve the level of urban traffic monitoring and early warning, decision support, and information service; and,
-develop green transportation, encourage green and low-carbon travel, and help achieve the goal of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.
