The 2021 China Industry Blockchain Summit was held in Changsha on June 3. It discussed the application prospects and development methods of industrial blockchain and promote industrial upgrading and transformation.

The summit released the "2021 China Industry Blockchain Development Report", "2021 China Industry Blockchain Ecological Atlas" and "Hunan Province Blockchain White Paper". At present, blockchain technology is maturely applied in 16 major industries such as government affairs, public resource transactions, public services, justice, logistics, transportation, and supply chain. Cai Jin, vice president of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), stated that blockchain, as a "machine of trust", is an important driving force for the digitization of industries in the digital economy era.

"Hunan's blockchain is developing well and the development environment continues to improve,” said Li Qiu, the first-level inspector of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Cyberspace Administration. Currently there are more than 270 companies engaged in blockchain technology R&D and services in Hunan. They are mainly located in Changsha Blockchain Industrial Park, Xingsha Blockchain Industrial Park, and Loudi Blockchain Industrial Park. A total of 23 blockchain information service projects were filed by the Cyberspace Administration of China. Changsha’s Blockchain Comprehensive Index ranks first in central and western China’s cities, and its policy environment sub-index ranks first nationwide.

The "Hunan Province Blockchain Development Master Plan (2020-2025)" was released. It was the first provincial-level one in the country. China’s first provincial-level blockchain security technology evaluation standards and blockchain industry related policies were issued. The Hunan Provincial Blockchain Association, Hunan Tianhe Blockchain Research Institute, and Hunan Provincial Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology Standardization Technical Committee were established. Research and development platforms such as the Hunan National Applied Mathematics Center, Hunan Xiaoxiang Big Data Research Institute, and blockchain academician expert workstations were built. National University of Defense Technology, Central South University, and Hunan University have established their blockchain research teams.
