The business cooperation symposium between Hunan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was held in Changsha on May 27, 2021. The business departments of the two places signed a letter of intent to deepen collaboration. He Baoxiang, Hunan vice governor, and Liu Hongwu, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region vice chairman, attended and delivered speeches. Zhang Jian, CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee vice chairman and Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce chairman, attended and hosted the forum.
Vice Governor He noted that the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor construction in western China is a major national measure to support the development of the central and western China. It is an important historical opportunity for both Guangxi and Hunan.
The Hunan-Guangxi New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor construction in western China should establish:
-a consultation mechanism to strengthen communication between the development and reform, commerce, and other departments;
-a collaboration mechanism to achieve results in industry, industrial parks, and platform collaboration;
-a coordination mechanism to jointly explore new approaches and methods for connecting African and ASEAN countries; and,
-a harmonization mechanism to solve one by one the difficulties and obstacles in the cooperation process.
Under the new development paradigm featuring dual circulation, Hunan government has attached great importance to and fully supported the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor construction in western China. We expect to use the new western land-sea channel to inject new impetus and add new highlights to Hunan's inland reform and opening-up highland construction, he added.
During their stay in Hunan Province, Vice Chairman Liu and his entourage inspected Xiangtong International Railway Port, Jinxia Bonded Logistics Center, and High Forwarders International Warehousing and Logistics Co., Ltd. He remarked that Guangxi has taken the Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port as the land-sea junction; been benchmarked against the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) economic and trade rules; served the development of the Yangtze River midstream urban agglomeration; and, strived to build a new land-sea channel connecting Hunan Province and the ASEAN countries in the shortest time, with the best service, and at the lowest price.
