Popular Science Exhibition on Aviation, Aerospace, Navigation Kicks off in Yueyang

On May 26, the “Yueyang Aviation, Aerospace, Navigation Popular Science Exhibition to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China” kicked off at the Yueyang Science and Technology Museum.

The exhibition has a total area of 1,200 square meters, including more than 20 large-scale aviation exhibits, 200 pictures of the history of aerospace development, and 40 model exhibits of aviation and navigation. It showcases China’s latest scientific and technological achievements in the field of aviation, aerospace, and navigation through physical objects, pictures, models, VR experiences and other forms.

At the opening ceremony, the Yueyang Science and Technology Museum accepted models of “Chang’e-5” probe and “BZK-005 UAV” presented by Yueyang-based academicians Yang Mengfei and Xiang Jinwu. Chen Dong, national first-class astronaut and colonel, and Wang Yaping, national first-class astronaut and senior colonel, respectively wrote inscriptions for the exhibition at the Yueyang Science and Technology Museum, to express their good wishes. Li Qinglong, senior colonel and Yang Liwei’s coach, who is one of the first group of national astronauts and space hero; Fu Wentao, deputy director of the Submariner Management Office of the National Deep Sea Base of the Ministry of Natural Resources and one of the first batch of Yueyang-based Chinese manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong; and, Xu Jun, director and deputy editor-in-chief of “Astronaut” magazine went to the Yueyang No. 15 Middle School and the Baiyangpo Primary School to give popular science reports on aviation, aerospace, and navigation.
