Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi provinces are connected by mountains and waters, and are rich in cultural tourism resources. A joint meeting of the executive vice governors of the three provinces in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River – Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi – was held in Hubei’s Wuhan on May 23. It announced that Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi provinces will jointly create an international cultural tourism brand along the Yangtze and build the Yangtze international golden tourism belt into a world-class tourist experience route.

The three provinces will carry out close cooperation in resource integration, brand building, product fostering, tourist exchange, marketing, and talent training, to explore the culture of the Yangtze River basin, and build an international cultural tourism brand along the Yangtze.

Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi will launch trans-provincial travel routes to develop "weekend trips" in Wuhan, Changsha, and Nanchang. Efforts will be made to build ecological tourism demonstration areas represented by Wuling and Mufu mountains, and to promote regional profit maximization and the prosperous development of the cultural tourism industry.

The three provinces will integrate high-quality scenic spots to issue travel cards. A joint incentive mechanism for tourist exchange will be established, and specific policy subsidies for large tourist group activities studied and formulated, such as chartered planes, vehicles, and boats. This helps promote tourist exchange among the three provinces.

Food culture represented by Chu, Hunan, and Jiangxi cuisines will be widely promoted. Red Tourism culture of Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi will be carried forward. Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi will leverage their film and television resources to promote featured cultures via traditional media and digital- and internet technology-based new media.
