On May 20, Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee director, met in Changsha with Huang Xiaowei, All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) CPC Leadership Group secretary, vice president, and Secretariat first member , and her party. They came to Hunan for inspection.

Provincial leaders Wu Lan, Zhang Jianfei, and Ye Hongzhuan, attended.

Secretary Xu thanked ACWF for its long-term care and support for Hunan province. He noted that Hunan is the hometown of great people and generals, and a revolutionary holy land. Both the first female member of the Communist Party of China and the first female general of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, Miao Boying and Li Zhen, are all from Hunan. Yang Kaihui and other female Hunan martyrs sacrificed their lives to write a moving chapter in the history of the Party and revolution. Hunan government, following the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech made when inspecting Hunan, has been implementing the “Three Highlands and Four New Missions” Strategy and striving to build a modern new Hunan. It is necessary to better collect the wisdoms of women. He continued, “We will combine the Party history learning and education with the political and legal teams’ education and rectification; protect the rights and interests of women and children and take good care of them; and, mobilize women's initiative, enthusiasm, and creativity for embarking on a new journey. I hope ACWF to keep helping and guiding Hunan to create a new situation for the high-quality development of the women's federation.”

Secretary Huang remarked that Hunan has made obvious achievements in economic and social development. The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, have always been attaching great importance to the work of women’s federation. They have carried out effective measures in strengthening the political leadership of the women's federations, deepening their reform, promoting women to start their own businesses, and taking various actions to care for women and children. ACWF will summarize and promote Hunan’s relevant experiences and practices, support the Hunan Provincial Women's Federation to better carry out its work, and gather women's strength for the implementation of the “Three Highlands and Four New Missions” Strategy, she added.

During their stay in Hunan province, the ACWF guests visited Shazhou Yao Village, Wenming Township, Rucheng County, Chenzhou City; Zhuzhou Women and Children's Activity Center; CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd.; a thematic exhibition hall; Comrade Mao Zedong’s former residence; and, the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall.
