2nd “Belt and Road” Infrastructure and Construction Equipment Business Summit Opens

The 2nd “Belt and Road” Infrastructure and Construction Equipment Business Summit opened in Changsha on May 19, 2021.

Xie Jianhui, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan vice governor, Luis Quesada, ambassador of the Republic of Peru to China, and Rodrigo Delgado Soto, ambassador of Costa Rica to China, attended and addressed the summit.

Ambassadors, envoys, diplomats, and traders from nearly 30 foreign countries, including Namibia, Peru, Burma, Costa Rica, South Africa, Vanuatu, and Gambia, attended.
Senior managers from leading construction machinery and engineering contracting enterprises shared their marketing cases and experiences in Belt and Road countries.

Vice Governor Xie noted that, construction machinery sector would play a role of bridge and pioneer that connect Hunan with Belt and Road countries. Hunan will continue to boost innovative development. Aiming at building “Three Highlands or Hubs”, Hunan government will support construction machinery enterprises to accelerate automated, intelligent, and digital transformation, break through the bottleneck of core technologies, and improve core competitiveness.
Hunan will always pace up opening up and development. The government combines “bring in” and “go global” to facilitate construction machinery enterprises to participate in infrastructure construction in Belt and Road countries in an all-round way.
Hunan will persist in promoting development based on mutual benefit. It will expedite building an international platform for exchange and cooperation, with construction machinery industry as a bond, in a bid to enhance policy coordination, connectivity of infrastructure, unimpeded trade, financial integration and closer people-to-people ties with Belt and Road countries.

Ambassador Luis Quesada expressed expectations of further exchange and cooperation with China in the fields of education, healthcare, communications, and energy.

Ambassador Rodrigo Delgado Soto hoped to strengthen scientific and technological exchanges and collaboration between Costa Rica and China, to benefit both peoples.
