The Fenghuang maglev project, the first of its kind in China, integrates "maglev + culture + tourism". The maglev line has a total length of 9.121 kilometers and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. It will set up 4 stations and 2 reserved stations. The project started construction in August 2019 and is expected to open to traffic within this year. Fenghuang Station of Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua High-speed Railway will open simultaneously.
The maglev line starts from the Fenghuang Station of Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua High-speed Railway, achieving zero transfer with the high-speed railway station. The north-south line passes through Qiliang Cave, Tourist Service Center at North of Fenghuang City, Nanhua Mountain, and runs cross the Tuojiang River before reaching to the terminal station, Tuojiang Zhixin Station.
