The preparatory work meeting for the 2021 Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Investment and Trade Conference was held on April 27. It announced the conference will open in the Pearl River Delta region in early June. He Baoxiang, vice governor of Hunan Province, attended and spoke at the meeting.

He Baoxiang stressed that the holding of Hunan-GBA Investment and Trade Conference is an important measure to implement the spirit of President Jinping’s important speeches made during his inspection tour in Hunan, and to implement the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy. It is an important platform to promote the construction of Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone, and an international investment and trade corridor connecting the Yangtze River Economic Belt and GBA. He added that we must adhere to the principles of "safety, good organization, pragmatism, and frugality", and build the conference into a brand with distinctive features and fruitful results. Adequate preparations should be made to meet customers and investors demands. He continued that we should focus on extending and strengthening industrial chains, develop high-quality projects to achieve effective cooperation. It is necessary to implement the accountability system, make detailed plans, reinforce cooperation, and provide service guarantee in regular epidemic prevention and control and news publicity.

According to the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, the conference will focus on advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, biomedicine and other fields, and invites heads of Fortune Global 500 companies, top 500 Chinese enterprises, and China’s top 500 private enterprises and persons in charge of industrial chain supporting enterprises to participate. At present, 597 key investment projects have been initially selected, and will be promoted to investors after optimization.
