The photo, taken on April 27, shows the excavation site of ancient “dragon kiln” in Outuan Township, Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County. “Dragon kiln” is a dragon-shaped long kiln. Between March 13 and April 27, the Hunan Archaeological Institute collaborated with the museums of Huaihua City and Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County to carry out archaeological excavation of two ancient kiln sites in Qijiashan and Chashannao near the Jingli High-speed Railway Outuan section. More than 1,000 pieces of kiln relics were unearthed, with saggars, bowls, jars, vats, and cups in the majority. Sandy and porcelain glaze wares were also found. (Photo/Liu Jiecheng, Chu Cheng)
