On April 26, Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, met in Changsha with Dr. Jonathan Choi, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and chairman of the Hong Kong-based Sunwah Group, and his entourage.

Provincial leaders Xie Jianhui and Zhang Jianfei attended.

Secretary Xu welcomed the guests. He said that in recent years, Hunan government has focused on deepening supply-side structural reform; promoting industrial transformation and upgrading; and, furthering integration of informatization and industrialization. Its advantageous industrial clusters such as construction machinery, rail transit, and aerospace power continued to grow; emerging industries including digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, and 5G burst with vitality; and, economic and social development maintained a good momentum. He noted that Hunan government is now implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches made when inspecting Hunan, carrying forward the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, and striving to build a modern new Hunan. Meanwhile, it has seized the strategic opportunities such as high-quality development in central China, and speeded up the construction of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster, to create an important growth pole in China. We should align with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is an important part of implementing the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy. We hope to deepen cooperation with high-quality Hong Kong enterprises including Sunwah Group in terms of industrial development, sci-tech innovation, digital technology, and intelligent manufacturing. We should benefit the people of the two places with pragmatic cooperation results and achieve common development, mutual benefits, and win-win results, he added.

Dr. Choi remarked that the rapid development of Hunan is amazing. He promised that Sunwah Group will focus on the digital technology industry, accelerate its business deployment in Hunan, and promote the projects operation and production in Hunan. It will serve as a bridge for Hunan's close connection with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and make its due contributions to the high-quality development and high-level opening up of Hunan.
