Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, visited Yueyang on April 25, 2021. He inspected the implementation of President Xi Jinping’s instructions during his inspection tour in Yueyang in 2018, and the work concerning ecological construction, flood prevention, and industrial development. He stressed firmly following Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to create an example for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Yueyang should shoulder its responsibility in building itself into a highland of reform and opening up in the inland area, and a sub-center of Hunan, so as to contribute to the implementation of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy and construction of a modern new Hunan.

Provincial leaders Xie Jianhui and Zhang Jianfei attended the inspection tours.

Xu talked with Zhong Jue, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of the Central South University, at the Hunan InnoChina Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. He learnt about research, development, and production, and asked the company to pursue independence in scientific innovation and green development, promote industrialization of research outcomes, and apply them to serve the country.

He then visited the Qilishan Hydrometric Station in Chenglingji, to observe hydrological situations and listen to weather and flood forecast.

Xu inspected a shore power demonstration project, and called for increasing energy efficiency, boosting clean use of energy, and achieving good results in both economic and social development.

He then inspected the Hualong Dock which has transferred from a messy sand dock to a wetland park.

Xu also visited the natural reserve patrol monitoring site in the East Dongting Lake Area and the Dongting Lake Museum.
