The Hunan Provincial Shaoshan Administration announced on April 23 that Mao Zedong’s Former Residence in Shaoshan will open to the public to celebrate the centenary of the Communist Party of China on April 25, after nearly two months’ renovation.

The scenic spot has received more than 100 million visits from home and abroad since it opened in 1951. It started the renovation in light of the high-load reception all the year around and humid climate on March 1 this year.
