The Chinese dove trees, known as a “living fossil” in the plant world, were introduced from the Badagong Mountain in 2006. The newly-opened bracts were light green and slowly turned white as the raindrops fell on them. The white dove-like flowers evoke a sense of joy, peace, and romance. Therefore, Europeans called the tree “Chinese dove tree”.
