In March, Hunan airports had 2.564 million passengers, a 2.9% increase over 2019. There were 21,400 flights, an increase of 9.7% over the same period in 2019. This was the first time that the number of Hunan airport passengers has grown since the COVID-19 epidemic. On March 28, there were 94,000 daily passengers, a record high since the epidemic began. A new record high was met on April 1, with 98,000 passengers.

In March, Hunan airport flight operations stabilized. Changsha’s Huanghua Airport operated 91.1%, a 37.6% percentage over February. The major airlines serving Hunan airports have shown full confidence in a market recovery. During the Qingming Festival holiday, it was estimated that Hunan airports would exceed 280,000 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%. Changsha Huanghua International Airport handled 235,000 passengers, a 9.3% increase. In April, Changsha Huanghua International Airport flights are expected to reach 16,572, up 2%.
