On March 22, a total of 25.8 tons of fresh navel oranges produced in Baojing County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Prefecture, were inspected and released by Xiangxi Customs. This was the first export of Xiangxi navel oranges, and Hunan navel oranges made its initial entrance into the Philippine market. Xiangxi Customs is under the jurisdiction of Changsha Customs.

A person in charge of the navel orange export company introduced that the exported navel orange this time is new variety introduced in recent years. They are not easy to spoil and have high added value and high acceptance in the international market. Both price and gross profits are more than 100% higher than that in domestic market. The company has stable customer channels and will expand the exports in the future.

Citrus is one of the important pillar agricultural industries in the Prefecture. Xiangxi Customs provides “one-stop” assessment and registration for orchards and processing plan, instructs them in quality management system improvement and importers’ relevant technical standards, so as to promote Xiangxi citrus abroad.
