Governor Mao surveyed the Light Alloy Research Institute.
On March 16, Mao Weiming, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, visited the Central South University (CSU) to learn about its reform and development. He asked to combine the implementation of the spirit of the national “Two Sessions” with putting into practice of the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech made when inspecting Hunan; integrate the implementation of the requirements of new development stage, ideas, and paradigm with CSU’s advantages; and, combine CSU’s progress with Hunan Province’s high quality development. He called for further deepening provincial government-school cooperation, and providing talent and intellectual support for the implementation of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy.
Zhu Zhongming, Hunan vice governor; Yi Hong, CPC CSU Committee secretary; Tian Hongqi, CSU president; and, Wang Qun, Hunan Provincial People’s Government secretary general, joined the inspection tour.
Governor Mao and his entourage successively visited the Key Laboratory of Traffic Safety on Track of the Ministry of Education, the Light Alloy Research Institute, and the Powder Metallurgy Research Institute, and had cordial exchanges with academicians Huang Boyun and Zhong Jue. He encouraged everyone to continue their efforts; strengthen basic research; accelerate the progress of core technology; strive to solve “stranglehold” technical problems in key areas; and, develop more first and new equipment, technologies, and materials. He urged the necessity to speed up the in-depth integration of enterprises, universities, and research institutes, and bring more scientific research results from the laboratory to the market.
