On March 6, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan joined a deliberation with deputies from Hunan Province to the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC). He stressed that history, reality, and future come down in one continuous line. Vice President Wang added that at the historic crossroad of the "Two Centenary Goals", we must look back at the centennial history of the founding of the Communist Party of China, draw wisdom and strength from it, and strengthen confidence in moving forward. We must follow Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to embark on the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country and achieve new victories in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended the meeting.

Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the standing committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, presided over the meeting. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, attended deliberation.

NPC deputies including Zheng Jianxin, Tong Luwen, Liang Wengen, Chen Yongbiao, and Liu Zhiren shared views at the meeting. 

 
Vice President Wang Qishan said that, in the past year, the development of the cause of the Party and the country has made great achievements that have been recognized by the people and the world and go down in history. There is firmer confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics both within the Party and throughout society. He continued, “the government work report, the draft outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for national economic and social development and the long-range objectives through the year 2035 follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. They are concrete practices for the major decision and plan of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core – following the new development philosophy and fostering new development paradigm in the new development stage. I am all for it.”

Hunan delegation deputy heads Li Dianxun, Wang Cheng, and Liu Lianyu, and provincial leaders and deputies Du Jiahao, Fu Kui, Wang Shaofeng, Xie Yong, Chen Wenhao, Zhang Zhuohua, Hu Weilin, Tian Hongqi, and Han Yongwen, attended the deliberation. Tian Liwen, and Ye Xiaoying were present.
