A conference on the implementation of 30 major landmark projects to promote Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan integration was held on February 20. It announced that a total of 400 billion yuan would be invested in these projects. As of the end of last year, an investment of 63.8 billion yuan has been made, accounting for 16%. This year a total of 39.9 billion yuan is planned.

Hunan plans to accelerate Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan integration through the 30 key projects, according to the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The projects cover a variety of sectors, such as infrastructure, cultural tourism, industrial development, scientific and technological research, and regional bases.

There are 14 new projects, including four projects involving “one line and three halls”. The “one line” is a red tourism railway line linking Hunan’s Shaoshan and Jiangxi’s Jinggangshan. It is planned to start construction recently. The “three halls” include the Military Museum of Hunan Revolution in Changsha, Shaoshan Lunar Soil and Aerospace Innovation Experience Base in Xiangtan, and the upgraded Liling Ceramic Museum in Zhuzhou.

Other new projects include the construction of a science and technology innovation platform in Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town, the Changsha-Ganzhou Railway, the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster national logistics hub, and SAIC Volkswagen’s new energy vehicle models.

There are 16 projects for expansion. The construction of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway West Ring Line first phase or Changsha Metro Line 3 extension project has been fully rolled out. The Changsha Airport reconstruction and expansion project has completed preliminary design and budgetary approval. The construction of the Hunan Energy Big Data Smart Platform has been initially completed and launched online. A total of 10,470 5G base stations have been built in Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan, laying a foundation for a full coverage of 5G technology in the three cities.
