The Hunan Port Group has given priority to both epidemic prevention and orderly production this year. It grasped the market supply opportunity before Chinese New Year, and increased ship dispatch and container growth. During the first month of 2021, it handled 62,600 TEUs, up 68.27% over the previous year.
Since the port and shipping logistics promotion fair for Hunan’s top 100 import and export enterprises and the first Hunan Port Expo last year, the Chenglingji New Port Area and the Hunan Port Group set an annual goal of 600,000 TEUs, and made all-out efforts in developing new markets and ensuring smooth logistics. They collaborated with the customs and port authorities to improve clearance efficiency, and worked out marketing plans and incentive mechanism to broaden market. They actively contacted clients directly, which helped increase sources of cargos and attract many logistics companies to join in Chenglingji Port rail and water transport projects.
During the Spring Festival holiday, the Hunan Port Group expanded production while ensuring safety and epidemic prevention, in order to guarantee holiday market supply. Data shows that, the group handled 62,600 TEUs in January, increasing by 68.27% over last year. The Chenglingji New Port handled 48,300 TEUs, up 59.8%; and, Changsha Jixing Port handled 14,300 TEUs, up 104.8%.
