The Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Major Projects Press Conference was held at the Hunan Provincial People’s Government Information Office on January 21, 2021. Tong Xudong, Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology CPC Leadership Group secretary and director, introduced the implementation status and main achievements of major scientific and technological innovation projects in Hunan Province in recent years, and the project approvals in 2020.

In the past five years, Hunan has implemented 32 major provincial science and technology projects and key sci-tech innovation projects, with a total investment of 469 million yuan in fiscal funds, and more than 2 billion yuan in supporting social funds.

It was said that Hunan has organized and implemented a group of major scientific and technological innovation projects, while facing the frontiers of world science and technology, the main economic battlefield, the major needs of China and people's healthcare, and in accordance with the principle of concentrating efforts on major issues, strengthening top-level design, scientific demonstrations, collaborative research. The single funding amount has achieved a big leap from about 3 million yuan in 2016 to 50 million yuan in 2019.
